Before putting alot a money towards any new software. What digital painting program is somewhat complex but user friendly.

Before putting alot a money towards any new software. What digital painting program is somewhat complex but user friendly.

I'm going to assume you already have the Adobe Creative Suite 2 which includes the CS version of Photoshop. If not, I'd strongly suggest getting this package just because it includes other programs like Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive & Acrobat which are industry standards.

Another suggestion would be to try out Painter.

Flip flop between Painter & Photoshop if you have to in order to get the desired painting effects that you want. Unfortunately there isn't a universal sort of painting program but between these two you should be able to do a fair amount of things.

And also consider tossing a few of those hard earned dollars into getting a good sized Wacom tablet as well; it'll help.
