I´ve drawn this with Artrage took me about 3 hours and thats a long time for me if it goes down to finishing something like that. So this is pretty much my first finished Digipainting. I hope you like it.

Hmm ist a Head with a lot of hair and a body with two arms of which the one in the foreground is somehow recogniseable. I hope that I´m not the only one who sees it. Whatever I just started painting and followed the shapes a bit.
I like it hehe :D

P.S: Ok I have to confess its a bit confusing....erm freedom of interpretation...:D

post one in not so lossy a format. I can see the jpeg/gif squaring lines. Remember, ca.org doesn't have much of a size limit on the image attach form.

I would focus and define the detail on the face and hair, because I want to see the face more, and the viewer needs a reference point. Seeing as you are using a narrow colour range, you are pretty sound on that point. But I would use some opposite colours for some details on the clothing. (always set the JPG to very high quality when saving)

if u make the head/face a bit bigger and more defined the pic would read alot better/// i can make out the long torso and that looks quite nice

3 hours!? yikes man. as a beginner i think that you should start with a better idea of exactly what you are painting, how you want to do it, and what you want it to look like.

freestyle painting is for professionals.

just kidding, but you'll learn more and progress faster as a conceptartist/illustrator doing more studied and deliberate paintings.

start with some thumbnails, use a color reference, or just a reference. think about what you are doing and why you are doing it. what are you trying to describe?

keep on painting man.

I saw the face and the torso right off but I have to agree that you need to have a better plan when you start. It has been pointed out to me by many of the wonderful artists here, that my art was half-assed because it looked rushed (and it was). My point is, we spend hours and hours on actual "wet" paintings but alot of us hurry through the digital stuff- either rushing the composition or the execution. I liked the concept you were going for here -- keep it up! Keep painting!
