Another environment practice. Never intended it to be starwars until I put in the light saber. And he's leaning against a table! Just lettin you know cause some people were seeing things. Let me know your thoughts.

Try adding some hues to outerspace... find some hubble pics of nebulas, add some of them in there maybe?

I suggest fading the console from right to left rather than have it disappear completely into black. compositionally, the red dot? on the floor is distracting me from the figure on the right. Is it meant to have special significance here? The floor to console height should be consistent across the image, unless the floor is angled?

waaaaayyyyy too much black .... avoid using blacks... allways make it a very dark hue depending of the mood.... black is lifeless and dull.
a made a pretty quick op here incorporating some of the stuff the boys said... hope that helps.... if it doenst ill be back in the next days to explain better.

It doesn't have the silhouette of 'Star Wars' if you understand me - you could use a more 'Star Wars' window structure.
Also it's unlikely the he'd keeps his light sabre on like that dont you think?
But yeah - good overpaint Sone one

Although the previous comments already inadvertantly addressed this, the brush strokes making the star system look 'milky' are really obvious, whatever you decide to do, obvious brush strokes arent the best.
Agree with all the other crits too :)

I definately see the difference, Sone one. THanks for that over paint. I'll get to that right away and post it as soon as I can. And no, it doesn't really have a starwars feel, cause i never meant it to be starwars until I put the lightsaber, in which I did because I wanted to practice reflecting the light. So this is all just a practice peice, if it doesn't make sense conceptually, it's alright. Thanks for the suggestions, and I'll put them to use right away.

quick question, how do you get that nice textured brush style that sone one used for the star in the overpainting?

there are a load of nice textured brush in PS, maybe use the spatter or the sponge one, you could get some nice effects if you start with a low opac brush then adding light.Even if its just practice you could add some "star wars" design elements with a quick google seach.I'm sure Darth Vader didn't have a table lamp like that one :D ;)
i'm curious to see how you continue this.

That table lamp is just corny:P....sooo, umm, add more flashy stuff to the console, it just looks dull this way, maybe a lens flare from the sun, and more light surrounding darth vader...
That's about it from me for now, good luck:)
