By luck and random searching I've found this (http://www.iadt.ie/Dispatcher?action=findAllEntities&type=Course&id=17&page=course&random=DL004) education, which seems to be pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. It's in Dun Laoghaire, a bit south of Dublin, and I wonder if, by any chance, there's someone here who knows anything about what the school's like? How much does getting educated in Ireland cost, and how much living (having a place to stay, something to eat, sort of thing) in Ireland costs?
Obviously my main concern is about money, if it wasn't I'd be on the next flight going to the Land of the Shamrocks...

Hi Sofia
Yes I used to go to that college, they overwork you to a vulgar extent!! I lasted less than first year there (did the animation) went to another college and got my results.
What caught your eye about Dun Laghaoire in particular?

It was the course itself, model making is the only thing I can picture myself working with someday and most schools seem to focus of CG modelling instead of the "old school" way of modelling by hand, which is what I enjoy.
As for getting overworked, I'm not too worried about that, as I work pretty fast once I get started. :)

Well I hope it goes well for you, there is a good social life in Dun Laoghaire IT (few drinks in Bakers Corner!) but the level of work is over the top. The workload was completely unrealistic! I work pretty fast too but I thought the course prospectus there was incoherent so I left, I was studying art yet I was overwritten with essays and the grading system was badly administrated.
Well that was back in 2000 I hope they've gotten better!
Did you look at UK? They have some good traditional art schools too

Well I've sort of done traditional art already, and I'd like to go into a more specialised direction. I've never cared much for what grades I get, as long as I feel I'm learning something, and it's worked so far.
Plus I know a few people in Dublin from a forum I frequent, and it'd be cool to meet them. :)
