[ Insert apologies for ridiculous delay here. ]
[ So, this fellah's a riff on the flying squirrel thing. ]
[ You can approach this as though he's some kinda superhero, or maybe as something more visceral... ]
[ ... up to you. ]
[ I'll be back on monday with a new one, by the way. ]

It wasn't the food, or the lack of public transport that kept criminals out of lower Vancouver... no. It was the Squirrelman.
If you were a bad guy, you knew he was after your nuts.

Hey, I haven't posted anything in almost a year, but I decided to do this quick sketch in PS while I waited for my next project at work. Nothing too serious, just for fun!

Hamsta- nice pict. I took yours and practised yesterday (how to build form with light)- based on your pict. Nice colors. People in the bottom work fine. I noticed that you started to use linework beneath your favourite smudges ;P. Did you become more comfortable with linework?
Surfacemonkey- nice perspective. I like the way you left the buildings at this stage. Quite a lot of life in your pict.
Don't be so hard for yourself Egets. I like his pose and composition. It's quite solid base to further drawing on it.

I should definately do more DSGs. Tried this one, just a crappy sketch, ~ 15 mins. I might fix it up later and maybe color it.
Edit- crap, hadn't looked at the others before, just noticed mine is almost the same pose as Hamsta's.

Air - Nice flight! The way it's airborne reminds me of a squirrel. I just noticed that a helicopter is overhead - why is he facing the sky? It'd be better if there was an alternative perspective to skydiving or circling underneath. You should make the smoke thicker and atmosphere more realistic.
Hamsta - It's alright, satisfying coloring but not the best quick DSG I've seen from you.
Masroh - A dead skunk. Lovely.
surfacemonkey - Graham cracker man to the rescue! *Splat...*
Aga - I like the scenery - but yellow wasn't a good choice for the gliding man's clothing.
mrdigs - Best image so far, fresh.
Magnum - I can see you didn't have time to finish his legs.. reminds me a flashdance dragonfly - where's the mist coming from?
Adam - Oh, nice idea for the pilot's headgear. That's about all I can say.. finish it next time.
Egets - Looks like Sonic?
Power Animal - This one has potential of being a classic. Continue!
mr digs - Again.. better than the last. Fun style.
Something - Cool one, sharper details could be drawn near the leg areas of the black bird creature.
Osmus - Excessively dark in a few places, but well drawn and the most unique so far. Fix his mouth area though, it looks like smeared black lipstick or a mustache.
Tin tin - Not feeling the color scheme, but it's symmetrical and I like the way the central energy is focused on your character and not anything else. You have topical talent but need to spend more time on them in order to get better in the long run.. his wingspan resembles a satellite interior.
Cup of Joe - Hah, my 3rd favorite. I can just imagine what you could do with hours of time.
Rocks - Can't see yours.
I hope everyone had fun. Private message me anytime for suggestions/comments/advice.
Keep doing you

Hmmm... forgot that crits were in order :^^;:
Aga Learn from me? you sure about that? maybe you should look for someone good? :P
I'm flattered.
I can see that you tried to go for an interesting composition, but I'm uncomfortable with it. Glider-man is perhaps too far off balance, maybe it's all those scribbles in the rest of the pic, maybe it's because glider-mans colors are off the pallete for the rest.
There's some very interesting work done on the mountains, the straight edges with the scribbles, but it isn't working everywhere.
Glider-man could use a little more contrast, some more skin tones to make him more lifelike, and I'm sure you realise he's not anatomically perfect.
Vulgar' Thx for the honesty, it could be said for about 90% of my work ;)

Vulgar - Yeah I agree with you about the atmosphere - could be a lot better... I'm trying to do these dsgs in one hour and still having a bit of trouble pacing myslef. I tried to make him facing downward as if he just jumped out of the helicopter. Thanks for the honest Crit! (seems like there could be more of that here)

@Osmus: Very cool... Dark and spooky...
@surfacemonkey: Good choice of colors...
And here´s my 30 minute sketch... I was <this> close to not posting it at all... Thought it might be too abstract or something... Basicly it´s another Squirrelman version...

Thanks...

I can feel your pain...
I too could use a wacom... It´s really annoying to work with the regular roller ball mouse...
Anyway, I like your character´s relaxed pose and the way you did the hair... Also nice color choices, although maybe the colors are a bit light... All in all, a very nice sketch...

Hamsta- not only in works of pro you can find interesting elements (of course they have more of them ;P
Yeap I notice some of your works shortcomings, but I like how you build the form and some of your works have their own charm.
About my composition, all my familly think the same as you, but I like that he is flying away from pict ;P
