[Dynamic Sketch]

A concept for a cartoony creature but I felt like making a version of it to color. The flame is what pleases me most about this. That and working with the shades and highlights. I'm not much on backgrounds, so I just threw something together. Enjoy!

EDIT: Okay, I had high hopes in this site when showing my work but I guess I was wrong. As usual, here come the Sonic fans who think that everything ever drawn is related to that crappy game, because they're too stupid to realize that there were cartoons around long before the 1990's--like over 50 years before then. Those old classics were my inspiration to become involved in cartooning, but I've yet to see one person who can understand that. As usual, I've found a so-called art forum with stupid video game and anime fans.

I'm taking my work elsewhere. Bye, losers.

That background is weak, so you might want to just remove it, but the character is really cool. The flame is in an odd place, but it looks kind of cool.
It's pretty nice overall.

The flame is a part of the character. The opposite has a halo, and I thought devil horns would've been predictable, so I went with a ball of fire. Don't ask. :P

I like it, but the fire looks like a lightning bolt. Too jagged and not flowing enough to be more like fire, even for a cartoon. Cool character nontheless though. :)

Wow...umm, one person said this was similar to Sonic. When I saw your edit I expected to end up reading some huge arguement, but one person says it. This forums is hardly for anime fans or gamers, but freaking awesome artists. Ok, some of them might be anime fans or gamers, but that doesn't matter. You freaked out over a little comment that was partially true. It kind of looks like one of those Chau things or whatever, that doesn't mean anyone was saying your work was copying sonic, and no one said they didn't understand that. I think you have a bit of a tender spot for overreacting when people say the words "Sonic the Hedgehog"...

I get this crap wherever I go from some nobody who spends way too much time indoors, they think that I get my ideas from whatever pile of crap they like. DeviantArt is really bad about that crap and I'm just about sick of it.

Word of advice Dynamic: You'll meet those people on every forum, so just deal with it. Some people just have an urge to point out that there are vague similarities between works, even though it doesn't matter. Either throw hissy fits, or just ignore them.

Don't try to argue either, because if it doesn't look like it, then it doesn't, and if it does, it does. A rant won't convince people that you are more original than the picture itself states.

If they really piss you off just grin and bear it and mentally lambaste them.

As for the pic, I agree that the background is ineffective, and should either be removed or spiced up. I also think the pentagram on his cloak needs some work, as it doesn't wrap around properly, and looks very simple and thin. I like the fire effect, and it kind of makes me want to see the same kind of style used on the figure in places, with the cell shading being blended.

Post more, and don't get upset about comments. It will just make people think you are a drama queen.

Well, we cant judge him, when people are so over sensitive, it allways means that there is some kind of serious trouble going on there, so, peace, i really hope everything gets better and that you keep beign better at art, your drawing is really good, good luck.
