Aaaargh!! 'Tis a fine image indeed. I don't think he's finished yet, though. First of all, I'd neutralize those background colors a bit so they can be reconciled into a single color scheme. As it is, the bright turquoise and the bright red orange are competing to much with each other and it's distracting us from Mr. Jones. Some of Davey's shadows look kinda gray and smudgy, and a few shadows need to be darkened up a bit, especially that one next to his eye. His hat looks somewhat blurry and indistinct and something's bothering me about those barnacles. I don't really know what. Plus, those red and turquoise mottlings are a little too saturated, I thing.
His eyes turned out well, and his squiddy glisteny-ness is coming through nicely. Just crisp it up, up the contrast in some areas and lower it in others, and it'll be nice.

Too many colors at once - I saw the movie and you hit his eyes almost dead-on. I'd like to see you draw Jack Sparrow..

Keep doing you

It looks just a little hodge podge still to me. I think your hat/background is on a different level than his face and tentacles. It looks as though you just adjusted the levels. I personally think the first post was a bit mor subtle and truer to your reference, although your contrast is better and the second. I like a bit of what's going on on the upper right with the hat. It might be cool to see like a Justin Sweet approach that was in Spectrum 13 if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, savvy?

the all thing is, i was working the image but my monitor had the option soft ON. That means that the monitor was a lot darker, and i drew the image like that. Thats why it was so lighten on the first one. yes i just adjusted the levels because its too late and i cant do it anymore, maybe tomorrow. But i Think i like it like that. Thanks for sharing your opinions, keep it up.
