I can see Heath Ledger playing the Joker. What's the release date for this supposed to be?

Hmm. Okay. I was joping it'd be someone a little older. Though I liked Tim Burton's original Batman movie, I thought the Joker was portrayed as a bit too slick and gangsterish. I hope this time around he's a lot darker. More of the creepy, perverted serial killer he was in 'The Killing Joke' 'Arkham Asylum: Serious House on Serious Earth' and in 'Dark Knight Returns.' And I hope they don't use a facial prosthetic to create a cheesy perminent smile.
Visually, I know it'd be impossible, but the ultra-evil/psychotic/demonic Dave McKean Joker would be incredibly cool.

they should go with Cameron Diaz as the Joker. Then they wouldn't need to use any prosthetic, her smile already terrifies me. :$
Seriously. Her smile looks a lot like Jack Nicholson's Joker prosthetic.

Well well well, it took the first Batman series four movies to sink to unfathomable depths of suckage, looks like this one plans to do it in only two.

I love Christopher Nolan as a director. But i will be the first to admit, he is one of the worst people at casting in the world.

Nah, Heath Ledger is actually a pretty decent actor, he just usually gets shitty roles. Chris Nolan knows what he's doing, and I'm sure he'll be fine here. I was hoping for Paul Bettany personally though, but I have no problems with this choice.

Hmmm... weird choice. I don't know where they're going with this, but they did such a great job with Batman Begins that I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I was always hoping for Adrien Brody, though. He would make a killer Joker.

I have no problems with his acting skill. I just have a problem with him being a pretty boy. I just dont want the Joker to look like a gay cowboy :P

Hehe... yeah I get what you're saying. I'm pretty sure he won't look like a gay cowboy though. A gay clown maybe, but not a gay cowboy. :P

I still can't believe how well he pulled off the role. Even now I can't help but think "Heath Ledger? Were they crazy?".

I was rooting for Adrien Brody as Joker from the beginning. I was surprised and nervous about Ledger. My first thought was, "I know he can act. A Knight's Tale and Brokeback Mountain were both great acting jobs. But...Ledger?"
And then I saw the first pic of him in make-up and I -knew- this was going to be the ultimate Joker, the new standard for the character. I'm happy Ledger did not disappoint.
His untimely death is so saddening. He should win and Oscar for that performance.

His played a perfect Joker. I couldn't believe it was Heath Ledger under all that makeup.
Ah, what a damn shame, at least his last performance was a memorable one.
R.I.P.

A stroke of genius on Nolan's part,
the range in the performance is quite impressive
pity about Maggie Gyllenhaal miscast too much of a different in character
Christina Ricci would have been a better choice I think or maybe Carrie Ann Moss. ...
