Im currently working on an abstract series/painting for my portfolio for art university/school and so on and so forth. just wanted some good ol' reference from all you amazing artists/conceptartists out there! since you guys are much better than the references on google, *cough*which arent good*cough*

Look for Kandinsky, also the Bauhaus influence in his time, Blue Reuter, etc.

I think you need to understand that abstract art is (WAS) not just about to fuck around on a canvas. It's also a study in composition, colour and rythm.
