Hi Shin,
This is a known issue with older Painter versions (Painter 6.1 and below I believe).
Details of the problem and possible work arounds are to be found on Corel's knowledge database; click here (http://kb.corel.com/scripts/texis.exe/kb/kb/search.html). On the page that opens, select product (Painter 6 is the one I tried) and enter 'memory' in the search for text box.

Indeed, Corel Painter has a problem with too much memory on the machine, but the reference above doesn't work anymore.
After searching the web, without finding any acceptable solutions, I wrote a small fix to solve this problem.
Visit dev.depeuter.org to read about it and download the fix.
Hope this helps
