Pixelation?

Hello people, I am experiencing some serious pixelated effect when using pen / pencil brushes (like the 2b pencil, ballpoint pen, etc) - any ideas on what causes this? It is happening even at 100% zoom and a centered canvas...but gets worse if you rotate the canvas. Pretty annoying.
