Alright folks, first posting of my "work" here... I really want this picture to go somewhere - I started it over a year ago but got frustrated after re-doing the area between his chest and legs. Any advice/crits welcome. I've skipped around a lot - still need to work on the eyes, tail, etc...

try out working with a grey background might help.
you need to point out your lightsource.
try to get some other color into it also, maybe some brown-orange or green-blue.
