Hello everyone,
These are a few concepts of mine. They are in grayscale because I was trying to work on value/lighting and seeing form instead of line. I tend to rely on line to describe form too much. I hope you find them interesting. Feedback and comments are always welcome. Let me know what I'm doing wrong, and right.
Thanks!

I'd like to know who voted for the last option. *shrugs* I voted "These are decent, push them more-average job". I think you are THIS close to getting them to where they want to be.
Like Doom Griever pointed out.. her back has issues. Either that or it's her skinny upper arm that makes her back appear so full. I'd consider revising that area. The hyena is wonderful.
On the aboriginee... His face reminds me of The Toxic Waste Man :) and at the angle his body and neck are positioned - his face doesn't seem correct. Also- what happened to his feet? Its a shame to have everything Else so detailed and his feet left looking like they belong in a Charlie Brown Comic :D
Can't wait to see your update.

One the first one, the left side (our right) of her jaw juts out too far. And I think her stance is just A LITTLE off-balance. You can can pushing her left leg out left more. I'm just picking these up after I mirrored your pic. Her shoulder muscle seems very big also. A little more contrast in the hyena could help bring it out a bit. He just looks a little thrown in right now.
The curves are all looking very neat though.
The second one's feet need a bit more work. They're very broad at the end, with or without moccasins or whatever kind of footwear she's wearing.

These are some neat little concepts, but I'll agree with most here -- They need to be worked on a bit more.
Just a tip: it would be nice if we could get a little background info on these two; usually the appearance matches their character. Personally, I don't feel like I can really help you without that essential bit, but I'll try giving my opinion anyway.
The woman, her little pet looks vicious, but not vicious enough. She almost seems like a seductress who'd be protected by wild, exotic creatures from a far off jungle or something. And I'll agree with what Doomgriever said -- her back seems to be too thick, or her shoulder blade is sticking out too far; especially considering the rest of her build. Digging the outfit, but it doesn't seem to have enough personality to it. Add some symbols or designs on her dress, something to really draw attention to herself a little bit more. Not saying plain is bad, but only in moderation, I suppose. :P
The man has got some serious potential. Is he a warrior, a tribe leader, a veteran, the shaman? Again, not saying plain is bad but it feels like he's a little generic, like he doesn't have a set role besides possibly some sort of fighter. Very good details in the face and on the tattoo[s], but again, give him some more life, tweak up his outfit, his weapon, or even just add a more vivid tattoo on the arm. Also, I'm not sure what to say about the anatomy on him, it's kind of confusing around the waist and makes him look strangely feminine while the rest looks obviously masculine. Was this intended?
Otherly, these have a lot of room for growth but I can see some pretty wicked characters come forth from this, just define them more~. I'm liking the drawing style and the use of shading. :)
