Anyone planning on seeing this? I've only seen the commercial but it looks pretty cool, I've always been into the zombie/diseased people, sorta theme. I'm probably going to see it, was just wondering if anyone else was. It kinda sucks how a majority of all those types of movies suck though.

I saw it, it was "meh" Vaguely predictable. I guess it was ok for that genre of movies. But dont really expect anything inteesting. One cool thing is that its a totally female cast, which makes for a diffrent dynamic then useuall.

I should probably see The Cave first...
but hey it's the guy who did Dog Soldiers, so I'll see it eventually.

Yeah i really liked the descent it kind of hit the scary point in my soul.
The all woman cast makes it Great and funny at the same time just beacause they bitch like they do on "americas next anorectic top model". With that said the movie has it flaws and those a few but kind of big, i dont want to leave any spoilers but yeah, there are flaws hehe.

The cave really fucking sucked and compared to the descent id....actually i wouldnt compare those two. The cave is a stupid american monster movie ( and i usually love those movies) but this one is just stupid and with more flaws than the descent.

The descent is one of my fav movies so id say you should go and see it.

Don't say it was vaguely predictable...it was plain and simple RIDICULOUSLY predictable. I was actually laughing at most of the film!

Out of curiousity, what ending did you see? They cut it in the US so that it would give a different impression.

Hmm, well I've seen really bad movies like House of the Dead which I was absolutley sure was going to be terrible before I saw it with 2 of my friends, was pretty dumb and funny at the same time probably the worst theater movie I've ever seen :P. I'll probably see the descent sometime this weekend.

Does anybody know if either this movie or The Cave have anything to do with Jeff Long's book The Descent. Which by the way was an awesome story.

yeah. that book was great! unfortunately the film "descent", although it shares a sort of similar premise, is nothing to do with it. i thought the film was alright tho... some of the caving bits are terrifying-a lot scary than the monster bits.

My girlfriend and I thought it was a really enjoyable film. I loved the ending. Theres not enough films these days that dare to end a film in that way.

I thought it was great! Nice little twist at the end... And I was impressed they filmed the whole thing in the New Forest, and effectively made it look like the Appalachians.

I saw the movie a while back..when it got out in the UK.It's myt favorite horror movie next to John Carpenter's the thing.I really loved the mood of the movie and all the references to other great horror classics. They even got a song ressembling the theme song in "the thing" by Ennio Morricone. You gotta love it!

Meh, I thought it was mediocre. Dog Soldiers was a much more enjoyable film IMHO, mainly because it didn't try to take itself so seriously.

well...i loved the descent.
i thought they did a great job...
but heres the kicker....if they had just made the movie a "woman against nature" survival story, (girls get trapped in cave, have to find a way out)
then the movie would have been an amazing film, because that was the best part of the movie, the parts BEFORE "gollum" decided to show up. they did a great job of building suspense and tension with just the struggle to survive the damn cave itself!
once the "gollems" came out it turned into "the hills have eyes" remake. not exactly a BAD thing, but it totaly changed the movie.

they made 2 films here, a great survival film: man against nature
then they made a predictable fun cheesy horror film

I thought it was pretty good but could anybody tell me the significance of the car crash at the beginning?
