This is my first published cover (so I'm happy :)). It's for a comic called Monster Club.

Very childrens book feeling, and you don't see too much of that on CA. It's got a sort of manga touch to the character as well, which fits in wonderfully.
Is this for a childrens book?
COOL!

Thanks man. It's not a children's book as such, but a comic for all ages (though it's got some mild gore in it - fun for all the family ;) )

Naw, your works worth one more reply!
Great stuff! Going to the trouble of doing backgrounds, is somthing I need to spend more time on, it really helps setting characters in an environment, which is strong for you.

Very nice work. I'll have to look for the book on the shelves.
The color palette and strokes remind me of Gontaro's stuff slightly. The figure design is sort of reminiscent of his stuff as well.
I'd like to see more contrast in the background as everything is fairly similar, from the tree to the ground to the sky. This may have been your intention, to place emphasis on the figure, but it just looks slightly muddy to me.
The band on the figure's right arm seems slightly off--the bottom ellipse.
Is this an all digital piece like your other stuff?

Hey Gez, great job man. Espescially love the scale and depth you've achieved from the composition and camera angle, really nice.
Congratulations on your first published cover gig aswell!

ChadTHX1138 - you rock!
blackhand - thanks a lot. I love Gontaro's work - and I'm happy to be compared to him! Yeah, now you mention it, I could have used more contrast in the bg. And yes, it's all digital again.
cos - cheers man! Good to see you're around :chug:

Really nice work, Gez. Great web site as well! I really love your style.
Now that your stuff is being published, you might want to keep an eye on the colors you use, and make sure they're reproducible on press.
For example, I've posted your image below as an RGB and then as a CMYK image. You can see that all those beautiful turquoise colors drop right out - they're not printable with CMYK - the publisher would need to do a custom separation and another ink run with a turquise ink in order to get that color. Most publishers won't bother - they don't care as much as you or I. But maybe you'll get lucky...you need to ask them up front, though, or as soon as you can.
