Thanks amphex !

In answer to your query, the background was modelled, and rendered in Maya, textured in Photoshop and Painter.

The Character was sketched on illustration board, scanned then painted in Painter.

The two were composited and cleaned up post render using Photoshop.

Wow, that outside area is 3D?!
It looks SO realistic! I thought that was a photo when I first saw it.
Very nice!

Ahh, yes, I see... You are right, the figure does look out of proportion to the door..... Since I transferred the girl from another painting I must have been subconsciously trying to keep as much of the room behind her as visible as possible.

I experimented a bit, actually just a couple of clicks with the scale transform and increased her size.... only about 1 head taller than before....

The more I stare at the damn thing I realize she is still a bit too short.... hmmm... I'll experiment a bit more.

Thanks for the crits.

OK... one more slight resize for the girl....

Going to put this one away now before I begin the long painful slide into destroying it, by tweaking it to death.

Again, thanks for the crits.

She looks short because of the proportion of her head to her body. Right now she's about 4 1/2 to 5 heads tall.

Nice painting though!

Ahhh yes... How could I be so blind.

Thank you for hitting me on the head Tedsuo. No doubt that is precisely what the others where trying to tell me but I wasn't getting it.

Her scale in relation to the door was not the problem but, of course, the proportions of her body in isolation.

I made the new, more appropriate changes to the girls legs and torso in relation to her head size.

She still appears to be a little out of proportion the more I look at it.... but at least I'm on the right track... I'll put it away for a while then see if anything jumps out at me when I next look at her.
