WIP - fun with attacking wurm-things

Spent a buncha time on this today- trying to make a generic image that wouldn't be out of place on a Magic card. I painted it using Photoshop from a scanned pencil drawing. It's not done yet, but my head is killing me and I can't make myself do anything on it for a few hours. Ugh.

Beautiful use of colors, the combination of warm and cool colors are mezmerizing. I freakin' love that blue glowing spear.

I'd say that when you come back to this hours later, you'll will see what needs tightening and it will come out spectacular.

Crits for now, the white mistiness between mountians is off-putting, but not deal breaking, it may just be me.

The bend in the Wurm, where he is foreshortened, should be rounder. the lines depicting the shape seem too straight, giving the wurm a flat oval shape at the bend.

The arm that is holding the spear has a protrusion at the palm base. When your wrist bends back that far at that angle, the bump would not be there, it would be aligned more with the forearm line...did I even come close to explaining that....?

i would highly consider making the worm a little less cartoonish and more realistic. get a good reference for eyes, fangs, and everything else. but the rest of the piece is just brilliant. love the colors, especially the cracks in the side of the volcano/mountain look really cool. keep it up!

fabulous work. Love the colors. its a tossup, i just cant decide if i like the blue spear or the green eyes more- keep it up

does anyone else think of Mustafar in the background, or is it just the Star Wars Nerd in me?
