Hey guys

My first post on CA :bashful:. Normally I only color comics, but I decided to expand my horizons a lil here and started this from scratch in PS CS. There's lots of stuff wrong here, but that's why I'm posting it :P

If you hadn't made it the title I wouldn't have thought this was the end of civilization. Try adding some more depth to the background. A ruined city would definately give it the feeling you want.

good start. its got nice ambiance and i like the color pallet, but it looks like youve just begun it. push it a bit farther!

Its good. But try to make it more sharp, n try out different brushes and whatnot. Ya should try to make the lightsource more clear. Meaning that you should make one part o the sky more light, and make all the shadows match up with the direction of that light source. But its not to shabby... especially like that classic cean-coloured light from them houses.

@ jfwalls: heh I know, crappy title xD I just wanted to refer to what's behind that wall, so that ruined city is a very good idea! Thank you

@ layil: thx! Ye, still in a kinda sketchstadium. Wasn't really sure whether it was worth pushing further. Thx for the comment.

@Orifice: Thx :) With the different brushes ,do you mean for different surfaces (dunno whether this is the right word) like the rocks and metal?

Yes exactly! like for example for the sand, some rust on the metal n somethin for the rocks. Im not experienced in that department, but still i really think it would help. You should keep the background kinda blurry, them mountains just a little bit visible, so that the viewer focuses on the important stuff. You should really continue on this, it looks good.

D: ... This is quite gorgeous.

I'm in LOVE with your colour choices, very lively, very eye-catching. Although, if this is the end of civilization, it looks a bit too peaceful. [[ Not unless it's post-ending ]] Go with jfwalls' idea and add the city ruins, maybe add some dark clouds over said ruins with traces of embers from a fire of some sort. I really don't think we'd all go to ruin calmly, really. ;)

Also agreeing with Orifice, make things sharper according to how close they are. The balcony and structure closest to us the viewer should be crisp and clear, whilst everything gets a little more hazy the further back you look. Define the buildings and the rocks around them a little bit more.

Vary your clouds a bit more, they seem to all have the same general shape. Add some wispy bits here and there.

Last but not least, more places on the rocks & buildings would have that yellow highlight from the beams of light coming down, not just those slight bits on the buildings. :]

Hope this helps, can't wait to see an update.
Cheers!
