Anybody know how to make a selection in a picture of, say, a Rembrandt or whatever, and from that selection, generate a swatch of colors? I swear I knew how to do this but alas, no more......please help if you have any clues.
Thanks

It's not pretty, but you can do it this way:
1. Copy your selection to a new file
2. Convert that file to indexed colour (Image/Mode/Indexed color)
3. Go to the Colour Table menu (Image/Mode/Color Table...)
4. Save the table in the dialog
5. Go to the load menu in the swatches palette
6. Load the .ACT file (The dialog opens with .ACO, but just dropdown the file list)
This makes a fairly good swatch of the colours in your selelction.
