i think it's her jaw line, it's to high, or her nose is to long. I’m working on my anatomy still also, but I’m pretty sure that's what's off. it doesn't look like it'd give her ear the right placing if it were visible. but your probly better of getting a second opinion before believing what i say lol.

well.. i can tell you why..your faces look off. the features of the face are not aligned.. in the correct places
if you have any anatomy books. like loomis or hogarth..or even others. if you look at the faces. you see there is a porportion of the face you have to follow..
so before you think about doing another face portrait, and making the same mistakes. open up an anatomy book. or look at pictures of faces to see what really there. and dont forget. draw what you see.

Lets see fellow ship mates I need to start drawing figures over and over and over and start the whole anatomy of the body gig. Here are a few 2-3 min hand setups i have been trying and a self portrait. O ya the pirate thing is a theme for my pad, dont worry im not gay, and if youre gay no offense because davinci was gay.

Hey nice start here. Your doing some studies, thats excellent. Keep on it. I was thinking maybe slow down a bit and really work on one piece. Take the time to observe the subject in your work. Get a mental note of how all the features come together to create the image. Keep on working at it!

since you responded in my thread, I figured ill post here. First off forget the imagination stuff, that shit comes later. Get a good anatomy book like these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0486227073/002-2930563-7598436?v=glance&n=283155
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0823015513/002-2930563-7598436?v=glance&n=283155
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0486227103/002-2930563-7598436?v=glance&n=283155
and just spend all day doing copies. Then try to find a figure drawing class in your area so you can build up a really good college acceptance portfolio, and dont get frustrated this shit takes time.

Hey man, cool stuff going on in here! As for anatomy, I second Loomis and Bridgeman, both different, but each fantastic. Mentler is good to look at too. I disagree with rblitz on the 'forget imagination' comment. Between studies, you have to practice what you learned with drawing from the mind or it fades away.
You've already made progress, just keep drawing everyday!

Some of those figure drawings are pretty cool. I really like that self portrait you have up there, too. :)

hey i like how the drawings are going, alot of them seem to show some form of movement. only thing I would say is to add more contrast to a few of them. Keep up the good work.
