medium isn't important, it's practice that makes the differenece, some people can crank out amazing work in ms paint, a program is just a tool and nothing more.

I feel the same.
But anyways. There is no single tool everyone draws with. Use what you're comfortable with.

I would suggest not using whatever you're writing with.

I only draw with Adobe Photopenis 29CM, and that's why I'm better than anyone else here.

I don't draw anything, I have a room with 1000 monkeys working on 1000 sketchbooks, and every so often I scan a good page and post it.

the only posible way to crate good art on a PC is to use the newest Photoshop with the most expensive tablett mankind knows
BUT only when the full moon stands over Jerusalem!!! (<--- IMPORTANT)
as an alternativ you can just use traditional media like the exotic "pencil" together with so called "paper" to become good

if you are a rookie i recommend a hb pencil (mechanic or not) and a big load of printerpaper in regular size (this is what i m using right now)

You didn't ask what everybody's favourite was... you asked what was the best. There is no best! Personally I use pencils, pens and photoshop.. that's just what I like. It's what works for me, but somebody else will do incredible works with charcoal, conte and Painter. I've done some surprisingly decent drawing with a twig dipped in india ink.
You'll find a lot of people draw by hand and scan. Some people draw directly onto the computer. Some people *gasp* don't use computers at all. Just do art and you'll find out what you like best. There is no wrong approach in this area (just don't let us catch you using a lens flare).

*slaps you on the head with a rose* why are you asking.. all these questions..
why do you really want to know. seriously? just grab a sketchbook a pencil and just draw. geezus.. no tool, will make you become "THE SUPER DUPER ARTIST" your got to work your butt off..
yeah using graphic programs is great and all
but its pointless if you dont know how to do things correctly on peice of paper.
:| *shakes her head* i should've kept quiet... :|
