Okay so I usually dont post too much over here just because Im so intimidated by the wealth of talent that is present however I figure if Im ever to get any fair and honest crits and if Im gonna learn I might as well start.. This is the beginning of a piece Id like to finish but Im new to painting in photoshop and in painter ( This is all photoshop btw ) I want to keep it as animated as possible yet get that painted feel at the same time.. any suggestions would be REALLY appreciated and believe me taken into real consideration and thought.. I appreciate your takin a moment out and checkin it out too.. thanks....

Interesting and, er, goopy - that's a compliment ;) The best renderings are the leaves and the polyps.

I think it's a good start, but the stark BG doesn't help the critter. Plus, is it coming out of the brownish bit to the right? Or is it oozebutt? Not clear; could use some more care in terms of rendering.

Ooh, boy, if this was gonna be for a 3D game, I'd hate to be in the meeting where the modelers see this guy. :p
