Now remember, this is the unpopular opinion thread, so I can say this seeing it would be unpopular to say it in here. outside this thread I probably will encounter the opposite though. While on the topic... ThunderDome should be about concept art, not illustration based on a vague topic. While I quite liked some of the entries and was surprised by the overall high quality, I found the topic to be very... CG-talk'ish. Maybe there's something in store for the following rounds though?

FF6 really wasn't a very good game. The music was great, and some of the characters were good, but the plot wasn't very good, the way scenes were constructed (what the characters did, the flow of the dialog) was lousy, and the gameplay was downright annoying (take five steps, battle, take five more steps, battle same group of enemies, etc.).

Its funny...for all the "oh noez he might get a penis infection" you should probably think twice about slicing open an infant. As far as the medical community supporting it, that has fluctuated wildly. It was declared to have no medical benefit in the 60s or 70s, the in the 80s it was decided that maybe it did...then in the late 90s the AMA declared that it had no theraputic value.

Actually for the record I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian, and am perfectly fine with animal sacrifice. Atleast there was some reverence and acknowledgement behind the killing, if even just for the people involved. Nowadays people are too fucking squeemish about their meat...if there's any obvious sign it used to be an animal then people freak out.

when i was 13 i went to a school where they played soccer during PE class, and after PLAYING it with 3 mexicans on my team.... i had a whole new respect for soccer. its an amazing game, and those guys are 10 times more athletic than the guys in ANY other sport.

I totally get why people didn't like the third one (I think it's the weakest of the three), but the second one was so good. Thing is, most of the time the reason people hate the second movie is because

A) The plot was too confusing and they don't get what was going on
B) They misinterpreted the plot and thought it was crap..even though the plot isn't actually what they thought it was.

I still run into people who think that Zion was a matrix inside a matrix after seeing all three movies and hated the movies because of it. I mean, come on, seriously?

soccer is fun to see geometry in use for player formations. That being said, I'd rather play it with nephews than watch it on TV.

None of the Matrix movies are worth serious consideration. They're all just fluff, but the second one had the most exciting fighting scenes, worth studying for any animation student.

I wouldn't say all the figures in Matrix were rubbary, although some were a bit. It isn't wrong, per se, to make them like so, especially considering that scene wasn't trying to be realistic. It was portraying a fight in a simulated world - wanting to show the rubbery aspect of the fighters, as glitches in the programming - that the simulated world doesn't know how to react to their actions. That plus their super powers (strength and resistance to blows) all reflects this idea. I actually think the computer graphics was worse in the Spider man series - the actual animation was great as spiderman flew through NYC, but the texturing of his outfit seemed very cartoonish, and just too clean.
