Check out what's in a "grand prize package" yo! :$
Only downside to it is the limited number of countries where this contest is open. See rules.

The Contest shall commence on July 31, 2006 at 12:00 AM PST (the “Commencement Date”), and shall continue in duration until 11:59 PM PST September 17, 2006 (the "Deadline"). All entries must be received by the Deadline to be eligible to win a prize.
Does that mean you submit a finished piece on July 31st or does it mean contest begins and you must submit a finished piece by Sept 17th?
I think too much.

I can't enter also, one; I'm not over the age of majority, and two; I live in the Netherlands.
That sucks :P
But well, I'm not good enough to be able to win a prize anyways.
Good luck to the people who want to enter!

I think it means that you can submit entries from july the 31st until september the 17th

I reacted just like corky.. it's very unfair that you can't participate because of where you live. Especially with those yummy prizes.

I would seriously like to know whats the criteria they used to discard the rest of the world...
-Is not about shipping costs, because they sure didn´t include mexico.
-Is not language, unless they assume most french do speak english anyways.
So I guesss is sales, the contest must be limited to the countrys that use either the sponsors product or just play WoW the most.
Unfair, of cource, but is always like that when there is money involved( not the prizes, i mean the entire purpouse of making a big contest)

EDIT; hey I think I am allowed to sumbit an entry, I just wont be allowed to get prizes for it..
Lol, I think I'll just submit an entry anyways, because I would never win anyway.

Go Jasonchan!:cheerleader:
Sucks that they don't allow worldwide participants. Might be because of different laws regarding contests?
Yeye. Hope we'll see some nice stuff anyways ;)

OMG! Those prizes are amazing! I want the Cintiq, too!!!
But, yeah. No chance I'd win anyway :(
Like some of you said, it must be legalities for other countries. Quick, come to America!

Welp. I could try to go up against you guys AND JasonChan in a struggle for artistic superiority. Or just smokebomb and nab all the prizes.
But they accept different kinds of submissions, so it doesn't necessarily mean we'll all have to try to beat out these pro's in their own field of master rendering.

Different countries have different laws concerning contests.

If youre a US citizen then Im assuming you have family in the US. Just use their address as the address to send the prizes. And if they're actually checking which country its submitted from throuhg IP tracing, then just send the files to someone in the US to submit for you.

I doubt Jason will enter due to his working at Massive Black, having access to sweet equipment already, and working with Blizzard through them.
I, however, am ABSOLUTELY entering!

I wonder what kind of art they are looking for. Masterpeices of artistic beauty, or something more accessible and... fanart-ish.

Ok I have a cintiq and I live in LA and I have a powerful computer...
The encouragement to participate is rather low.

Sweet prizes, but to be honest...I'd prefer the 10g...imagine how many hookers and crack you could purchase.

Actually if you win a grand prize you can only alternate the hardware for cash, which is 5g. And you have to take that trip 'cuz otherwise, according to the rules, they'll forfeit your prize and give it to an alternate.
