I actually kind of like the texture on this piece. It has large areas of flat color or simple gradations and the texture makes it much more interesting.
Really cool piece! I also like how the light source on the texture mimics the direction of the lightsource in the image.

Thanks for your feedback guys! Much appreciated.
Inspector Lee, nice to read that you noticed that I adjusted the relief lightsource to the image's lightsource.

a texture is good, but the uniform direction here flattens the piece. acroos the floor it could change direction, and on the counter perpendicular to the floor

Thanks for your suggestion, but as everything is already 3D I actually prefer the texture to disregard all perspective. It's a matter of taste.

It's not that it is nessicarily for a look, but I think that making the texture work with the floor could create more depth, considering the uniform texture really flattens the piece out.

I have to disagree. I think the big gradations and perspective are already giving this image a good sense of depth and the texture is flattening it out. The two work at odds but make for a very interesting visual tension in this piece. I wouldn't change it.

Thanks Inspector Lee, I agree with you, although I always value and consider the feedback I get here.
