They are nice, but i wouldn't jump to CGing so quickly.
I think that you should spend a little more time getting up to pace on anatomy before you start to CG. That's just me.

I think that you have alot there, but what's there is overshadowed by the anatomical errors.

Very good keep it up!

Jakian can you tell me what exactly you think needs anatomy work ie hands, feet? I am trying very hard to dedicate to improving but become restless very quickly, i have a hard time drawing things that don't hold my interest. Everyone suggests anatomy and life drawing. I'm very comfortable with drawing from reference, it's drawing from my mind that frusterates me the most. I hope this all made sense. thanks for looking

Well, it seems to me that you are seeing the body itself and not things that make the body.

Your fairy lacks a ribcage and a hipbone. In that pose they'd be more prominate.

I think that you need to actually do some skeletal and muscle studies. Your anatomy isn't horrible, but I think you need to really spend some time learning about muscles and bones.

hey guy just some photoshop doodling... I'm still getting the hang of this.

This is straight out of my head with no ref so the anatomy i'm sure is a bit off.

I still have a lot of detailing and highlights to do. I need to choose on a consitant shadow color too started with reds and then went with blues for contrast. please let me know what needs work. I appreciate the feedback thanks!

I posted this in the WIP section too to hopefully get some feedback

Steve-O,

I like the frog alot...you have captured his gesture and the light hitting his back. Looks good.

I would say that in your figures your proportions, especially with the hands, could use a little work. I understand that the hands may not be the focus on some of these sketches but if you spend a bit more time on them it will help the rest of the figure.
=)

Hey thanks Tactically! That frog piece is actually my favorite painting i've done. It's oils on canvas and it took a long time. The photo doesn't do it justice. Its definatly to big to scan so i had to take a photo of it and the flash and lighting made all kinds of reflection issues. and the stars are much more beleiveable in person.

I can't agree with you more about my proportions and anatomy studies. I hate drawing hands. I think i never give myself enough room to work with and that's my problem. Secondly when working on hands each line is so critical that it's placed correctly. One line thats too out of whack throws the whole hand of and the negative space between fingers needs to be beleiveable. Gah makes my angry thinking about it. Thanks for stopping by and I'll be sure to work on my skills. Come take a look again in a few days!

These are a few life studies that i've been doing over the past few weeks. I'll have more up this weekend. Each of these took about an hour. I'm still learning some proportions, so I'm aware of most of them errors
