I really enjoyed this one. It started out with no planning and was intended to be a speedpaint but i ended up polishing it up. Part of me thinks i polished a turd because his anatomy is weak (hands in particular) but it was good to deprive myself of reference and see what I've learned.

Love the heads. the background, and the colors.

But the demon holding the sword seems akward to me. Without him I
think the image would be very striking(spooky?), he doesn't seem very menacing.
Also there seems to be some anatomical and perspective problems with him.

IMHO

Shit dude, that's radical! I totally dig it.

Some crits: Not so much the creature's anatomy as his pose seems stiff. Also, the crossguard and hilt on the sword look crooked, and his wing is making a tangent with the mountain in the background. The furthest mountains are a bit too unaturally pyramid-like.

But the colors, landscape, and composition... awesome!

Nice skulls.
Kilmarnock, eh? Ever get over to Arran? Great hiking.

wopi! You never know what you'll end up with when you start something new. I dig the color and strokes. The lower left background corner, where the mountains are, dosen't seem finished though.

Thanks for the crits. I'll try to take more time and get my anatomy and composition correct next time.

MGH: Aye, I've been there, I love touring around my country as theres tons of places that are incredibly inspiring to me. I just love the harsh beauty and isolation of Scotland.

Yeah, I love it there. The part of Canada I live in is flat as a pancake (zzzzzzzz).
My wife and I fantasize about retiring to a cottage in Lamlash looking out at Holy Isle. Oh well, it's nice to dream, ain't it?
It would be nice if there were a few more sunny days, although with those hills I end up hiking in the rain anyway.
