Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/index.html) from Google is super basic, but might be all you need, and you can't get any freer than free.

There is always a free 30 day trial of photoshop CS2, from adobe's website.

Tried it out and it seems like a real nice programm to me, but unfortunatelly I can't seem to be able to resize picture to the exact size I want it to. 580x450, for example....
Interceptor. -I am looking for a programm, that I could use for a couple more month till I get an own Pc... (Photoshop could do, but it's too complicated and runs slow on the Pc I've got here....) thx anyway

Thanks glikster. Artweaver seems to be all right. Similar to Open canvas, I've tried out bevore (was too complicated for me (turns red)). But I think I'll manage to get the hang of Artweaver.....

But if he can manage it, it'll work fine for what he wants.
Assuming you have Windows XP, Just download and install:
GTK (http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gtk+-2.8.18-setup-1.zip) and then GIMP (http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gimp-2.2.11-i586-setup-1.zip)
To resize an image just open the file and then Image -> Scale Image then Save As.

Problem solved, :muscle:
am using Picasa first, to work some on the photos, and afterwards resize it in Artweaver.
Thanks a lot for the help.

Mamoth, it would be http://www.irfanview.com/ I'm afraid you inverted some letters. But it's cool, I use it all the time, and you can batch files too.
