this is my first post in here and also my first thread ever :} I was drawing this portrait of a friend and I stopped cos I wanted some good crits before start colouring it so what do you guys think about it? :teeth:

The eyes do not align, probably the right one too high. The ear is probably too short and too high.

yeah I agree with the eyes alignment but not that much wit the ear :} heres a photo of him...

good stuff so far. a few things though.
ear is way to short, your referance has longish ears. the shading on the side of his nose makes his Left eye indented into his head way to far. Defining the bridge of his nose, which is also off, would fix that. It also looks like the nose is on the same plane as his forhead which isnt true at all.

Really pay attention to relative distances. I think you're pulling one of mine, in that the distance from eye to bottom of nose is too great.

Measurements, measurements, measurements.

You seem to have much more chin and upper lip and less nose in the photo than in the SP. Your bridge also seems to pinch together.

Also, his nose doesn't appear to make a straight line on to his forehead - there's a dip at appx. eye height, where the nose is slanting back toward the face, and the brow ridge protrudes a bit.

...no, I mean that in the PHOTO there is a dip, but in your picture there ISN'T.

His right eye is too far up, and too far out, and something inside me just want the nose to cover some of his eye.
