Oh I wanna go, I so totally wanna go, am I'm going to try to get there, but I guess in the end it comes down to money. Moving from Sweden to the US isn't cheap...

Cool! Good luck with your plans, keep me updated. I'm not sure if you've been to San Francisco before, but I just love that city and I'm sure you will too.
Ha det så bra!

Ugah. I just got an email on what I'd need to apply, and it's a helluva lot of money. :S I guess I got carried away for a moment and forgot how different the education system in the US is to the one here in Sweden. Oh well, I'll look around here (http://links.vfxy.com/browse-schools___europe-1013-1.html) for a bit, hopefully there's someplace just as appealing here in Europe.

:[ *wants to win the lottery so she can go to San Francisco* :sadcheerleader:

The Senior/Spring Show is over. Sadly, the work has been taken down. However, if you do goto the main building at 79 New Montgomery, they will give you a free tour of all the Academy's buildings throughout San Francisco. Its nice to get a feel of the school and various departments. There is much work up on the walls of each department for you to see. When you're at the department you were interested in and happen to see a student, you might ask them on their opinion as well?

If you ever change your mind, talk to the counseler about what classes are required for international students, I've met many who complain about taking classes they shouldn't need to. Example, a basic English class. Many classes can be waivered, but you have to work for it.

Financially, I hear that AAU is the cheapest overall degree than many of other US art schools. Strictly... word of mouth from many I've met. But if you're not interested in a acredited degree, you can see if you can take individual classes you think you could benefit from? The school policy is full refund for people who drop the class during week 1 and less as the weeks progress. I had signed up for 6 classes a few semesters, only to see the class structure, the instructor, and makeup of the class. If it didn't meet what I needed, I dropped the class down to 4. This way I guarentee a seat for me and not waste my money.

Either way, good luck! Sadly, I wish I knew schools in Europe to recommend

I'm actually here in SF right now (drunk off my arse in the Mission district) and I went to see the Spring show today. Yes, some of it has been taken down, but there's a good amout of it that is still up. Isn't this suppose to be going on until the 22nd?? Seems like they're jumping the gun a bit here...

Sweet. Glad you got to see some of it, was it from the dept you wanted? Anyway, if you haven't already, take a bite from La Rondalla. One of the best cheap and tasty restaurants in the Mission. I think its 20th and Valencia... there might be a mariachi band. Its usually on the weekend, but who knows on the 4th?

Enjoy your stay!

Hey there. I actually made my way back to LA on the 4th, so I couldn't try out La Rondalla, but I did have a great meal at an Indian/Pakistani restaurant near Valencia on one of those numbered streets. I always have a good time in SF...
