I'm not an artist, i'm just a piece of meat who sometimes draws and paints when the muse comes to have a beer with me. Anyway here goes my post, one of my finished art (art?... who cares...)

http://www.toposolitario.com/heavygear/hg03.jpg

This is the Cangreja (she-crab), a Gear (mecha) for the game Heavy Gear, technique is just pencil... then ink over it and color with pantone pens... added a dumb background with Paint Shop Pro (I'm so amateur that I don't use Photoshop) and a cheap blurry effect.

Hope someone likes it.

And here is a previous step (maybe someone wants to see it)

I like it. Perhaps itīs not technically perfect, but itīs a good design, and thatīs the most important thing on concept art.

Go on with your work!

I also think its pretty nice.
Little crits:
The bria-head looks a bit attached on the spider-body.
I would also like to see it with pure spider-foots!

Yeah, but the design is for Heavy Gear so need a head and need wheels, it's supposed to be a pilot inside it with his head in the gear's head... anyway... I'm not an artist :D

yup looks like appleseed mech head, the second version is much better to look at, the wheels don't look convincing, nice work though.

i personally think it would be a lot better without the head. But it still owns right now :D

The effects make me think I need glasses. Quite an eyesore. The design is ok though.

i'd switch the head out with a GPS, or maybe a periscope.
i guess the wheels are for traveling on road.

man ~i dig the 1st one..can actually feel some motion where u blured the pic..as for the second pic..u can always use the french curve to do the circular portion..for instant the wheel.
nice design overall:)

It was a quick design made for a Heavy Gear contest... yes, the head looks weird, and I should work a little better in that uncircular wheels... but overall i'm happy with the concept and the final result...

Anyway... I'm not an artist, maybe a frustrated one but not a hardworking freethinker artist at all. Thanks for your replys. :)
