I'm liking the cloth, though I guess I can see why you might feel it's unfinished -- the lines cutting into it to make the patterns look quick and sketchy (not nec. a bad thing tho)
coolest bit for me are the sword hilts popping out the back, sweetens the composition

Ty, thats an amazing pic. I think maybe it would be cool to introduce another color into the clothing. Maybe a bright red or white, not really sure. :chug:

very nice...
my suggestion is that the cloak actually looks more 3 dimensional than the face, making his head seem flat
other than that it seems pretty good...maybe a little bit of a lighter colour somewhere amongst the robes would help to balance the white of the face too...
that's what i reckon anyway...

I think you managed to get the right colors after all. Same thing with the background. But I do think those lines in the robe looks a bit too scribbled on there, as if you got bored with it.
Anyway,great picture.

Epic is right. Very elegant. Looks like poster for some kind of Vagnerian (sp?) opera. The face seems maybe a little like a different style from the costume, but then it does give it a focus. Cool.

It's good to see that you finished this piece, Ty.
I think the lines in the cloth work to good effect. The design is very reminiscent of a pheasant. I dunno, that's just what it reminds me of--the browns and the patterns in the cloth.
I'm curious to see now what the design underneath the cloak is.

nice boogie, u have that rough style of digi-painting gives the piece a certain sense of strong contrast.
one suggestion, it might be cool to have the subject at a slight one point perspective as if the view is looking upwards at him at a slight angle. further enhance the dynamics to the composition. would also like to see the design revealed underneath the cloak.
keep up the good work.

That's sweet dude. It feels a little crowded up at the top though,

this has a very interesting feel...I really like his pale face. I agree that it's a bit crowded toawrds the top, but still a cool piece.

ty: No no, not at all! It just feels like there's not enough space between the center of interest and the edge of the canvas, is all. I tried doing a PO, but after 15 minutes my own objectivity went out the window as well. Doh!

yowza! been away from the boards lately and look at what i missed out on. great design, the muted ochre color scheme works very well. i agree with dan about adding a bright color. maybe something graphic to work inside the already strong silhouette that you've created. sweet...!
