These concepts remind me a lot of 'Dragon's Lair'--just the sword and sorcery concept rendered in an 'animation' style.

The expression work you show is great. That's just an ability I really envy--being able to illustrate different emotions.

Seeing your storyboard/animatic was insightful as well.

Whats even more scary, is that your latest story board character art is remarkably similar to the work done by Disney and Pixar, good stuff.
Are you in employment with this? because you should be :)

I look farward to hearing/seeing more about your latest animation project. Keep up the good work. It's nice to see that 3D graphics can be outdone by the 2D artists still ;)

excellent work! you truly understand character design. I only have one suggestion. The costumes on the characters themselves are rather generic, they should say more about the characters. For example: Indiana jones' hat, jacket, and whip tell you the story of who he is. Also, consider putting some cultural texture into it, what would the costumes be like if this story was taking place in medieval russia, or spain, or scandanavia, even the middle east?

In the videogame "Mark of Kri" the main character is not just a generic Conan ripoff, he is imbued with the cultural texture of the Maori.

your hand shows alot of sensitivity.

Thanks for your comments :)

It's true, but I drawed all these characters before I wrote the story. These roughs were the first steps of the story, inspirational concepts only. I have the script now and I must put cultural texture and make it coherent into their world. I'll show you when are finished.

Hej Peter!
One collegue from Kobenhavn!! I think I know who you are :)
Are you still there in animation house? One friend there and Karsten told me that AFilm is in crisis too, and yes, I talked with Stefan about Asterix but he told me they're looking for financing yet.
It would be nice to live again in Copenhagen, it's a very special city for me... and I miss the tuborg... and Assistents kirkegard... and the lille havfrue... and the bicycles :)

No, I'm not at the the Animation House anylonger. I work at Jubii which is an internet portal. Maybe you heard about it... maybe not... ;)

I worked briefly on the Asterix project in pre-prod closly together with Stefan, but that was a freelance gig. If they havent already, Afilm should be very close on getting the finacial backup they need to start on the movie... It has been in the danish news, so it's not a big secret anymore! :)

Would be great to have you back in Copenhagen at some time. I will send your regards to the friends at Afilm!

.....que bueno eres cabrón!!!!!!......wow is wonderful!!!!....I really dig your style!!!

Very well, Miguel!

On the earlier ones...Your style reminds me of the old Don Bluth arcade games. That's an extremely good thing, of course.

And people are right to make the Asterix comparison, which is also an extremely good thing.

What all do you have in mind for this animation piece anyway? It looks like it's going to be some sort of fantasy adventure cartoon series of some sort...which is wonderful, because I'm a sap for anything to do with fantasy adventure.
Is it going to be a one-shot "short" which you can show at animation festivals? I would hope so, because after that the next logical step would be to look to make it into a TV show. I would love to see a TV series like this one, since high quality animation outside of Japan is pretty lacking these days. (With a few notable exceptions, of course. Pixar in breaking off from Disney has their artistic integrity and creativity intact.)
