I just caught the first episode of this PBS show on art history. It focuses not so much the who and when as the why. Not much new information for those who have any background (and slightly aggravating at times therefore), but still it's good to see this sort of thing being produced. Probably a good thing to watch with friends/family who have no idea what we're doing.

i just saw that too, it was great. very entertaining like a detective show and not like a history book.

Sounds awesome. I'll have to get my inlaws to TiVo it for me. For some reason, PBS is always cutting out on our cable.

I haven't seen it yet but all this publicity worked and piked my interest.

well just like i wouldn't go to Brian Sewell for bradgelina news, i wouldn't go to (hollywood reporter) for anything remotely art related.

Just saw it. I already came to that conclusion, not too long ago. It's part of why I am so disappointed with the move towards realism in videogames. Realism is boring. I'd rather see something that doesn't exist, or hasn't been done. That's why I love concept art.
