for no reference i'm impressed. there's a few little things i noticed about the animal antatomy... like the perspective on the sabertooth looks a little too forced... i can only guess if it would be wrong though, seeing as i haven't spent much time drawing these type of animals. a few things i did notice though... the tree in the foreground is too crisp around the edges.. you would have mutiple layers of leaves around the tree.. looks like you used a leaf brush, or a picture of of a tree for that, but i think just adding some more variation around the outline would help. also i think it would help to lighten the grass around the elephant.. since the grass around the sabertooth is the same value, and thats in the shadow. the atmospheric perspective works good with the trees in the background and the montains... which could use a little more variation under the tree... that area seems too blank. the texture and the elephant head looks really good

bfaubion - thx. Gah i cause of this did some changes to it. Sry forupdating on this thread.
And no if you mean i used a preset brush that makes leaves i didnt use it. I only used one single brush for the whole paintng. And it was some sort of noise brush so that i get a more rough stroke rahter then the using the roundbrush.
And also i did everything on a single layer so i could only undo to some extent. So no cheating like lensflares or burn tools were used...:D
thx for your comment

yeah... that extra work on the background helps... the leaves look great, i honestly thought it was a brush or something cause the amount of detail in the tree, man... i wish i had that patience... i'm working on it at least.. :)

that's pretty cool. I like the poses and the general style of the rendering. I'd maybe work a bit on the tree canopy, so it doesn't look so much like a solid object but that doesn't detract too much from the piece as a whole. Great work!

bfaubion - hehe, but they were made up quite fast with a large brush. Then just detailed at random by a smaller brush.
Palm - Yo, thx m8.
Exo - Yeah i agree, It looks kinda cut in. Perhaps some thickened tree whine to randomise it a bit but gah.. :bash: ill leave it at this point and let it age in gracefulness....;)

uh,just one thing:for that much light coming from behind the mountains there's too little light on the creatures and the grass...somehow
otherwise it's good...maybe just the cat(or however called) is a bit flat, his other two legs are missing and he looks like he's gonna fall over at any moment
but,as i said...good pic tho;)

Carnifex - heheheh falling over. Yeah but i think its a monitor thing as well. On my monitor 50 brightness and contrast 100 then you can tell the legs apart from the grass so you can se he has four legs... However of your moitor is old and darkened or perhaps just you settings are dark then the legs will melt into the bkg.
Point taken though...;)
