Hey there, I have been a member here for some time now but i have never got around to posting. I don’t have the metal :nohope: .

I have been drawing for about two years not trying to improve and such. I have recently noticed that my work is becoming very cliché. All my drawings are from the front or 3/4 views (a pitfall I was hoping to avoid). As well as that everything I draw seems to be a slightly modified version of something I have drawn before.

Anyone have any advice or something, just reaching out here ??.

wellllll... just throwing some ideas around, but why not try doing the opposite of your natural comfort zone instinct? Always doing front or 3/4 views? Do some rear and profile, do some worms eye views, some birds eye views. Always doing (random subject) bikini warrior girls? Do some WWII soldiers. Always doing post-apocalyptic cyberpunk? Do some 30s action pulp. Always doing robots with giant laser machine-guns? How about some fantasy creatures. Do some environments. Do some costume studies. Do some vehicle designs. Practice your anatomy. Do some life drawing.

...

you get the idea.

Re the slightly modified, I don't think that's necessarily a negative. Even if it is *slightly* modified from image to image, I would imagine there is a bigger difference between image 1 and 10, if you get my point. Regenerative possibilities are a part of the assessment criteria here in NZ, I imagine that's similar world over.

That said I like the suggestions above :-)

Try doing the different community activities on this site. They usually have some pretty good topics.
