hi,
there are many tricks at photography, if you look at some photos in this forum you will see some tricks. Best thing is experimenting. Also read what the artists wrote about their pictures. If you like the way of some of them and you are not sure how s/he did it, just ask.
I borrowed some books, too. Our City Library has many interesting books about analog/digital photography. Some very nice tricks are explained.

I don't want to be "that guy," but I'll say this anyway. I think it is more important to focus on taking good pictures. The tricks will come with experience and, asvinc said, experimentation. The tricks that you won't learn, you'll invent, or discover yourself. That being said, yeah, books, too.

To sum it up, knowing the basics can get you started. Your skill will guide you. While you learn, you can break the rules and discover things unique to every one else.

Pointlessly spinning your camera (Like doing a barel roll) can make a picture look neato.
But it hardly happens that way.

Let me be the other guy, that backs u up. :) .
Dewd,t ry to work with all your camera's functions, ussually every function, once you get it's use has a certain coolness of it's own. As you start creating or finding a style for yourself you'll discover your own tricks. Also, as you discover new tricks you get to develop a style. :tihi: I know it sounds like a vixious circle but ussually that is the way it works. I for one I'm 99% self-thaught, and that;s how i got my stuff toghether. Just click everything you like a act as your own critique.
Cheers!

What about the sheep?
It's fine if they roam free, but I'd much rather they'd follow like the women. For uh... dairy products and maybe meat... nothing else, honest.

No, because now I'm scared of what you'll make me do.
(I've been hunting round for a cheap one, but still need to just get out there and get my paws on one).

The image of Rhynome "milking sheep" will haunt me for the next two weeks.
PS. Is it wrong to be turned on by that?

Not at all; I wouldn't do it otherwise.
