Watercolour/ink/acrylic - work in progress.

The cyber ninjas are battling the zombie pirates in space. Oh yes. Dont ask ;)

I've been painting the bits separately and am attempting to put them together digitally, however I lack a graphics tablet so I cant do any actual digital painting. I haven't done the zombie pirates yet, or whatever it is they'll ultimately be standing on, but they'll be there. I haven really decided on the composition yet, to be honest. I could have planned this better, but so it. goes. Quite tricky in this media.

I quite like the effects here, but frankly it's all a bit too 'Happydays in space'.

Thats pretty good. I like the way you've painted it and the space scene with the planets looks good. The cyber ninja is pretty sweet too. Is she a female ninja? If she is, it looks like she has a moustache.... hmmm....

I have a feeling I'm going to have great trouble piecing it all together though. Really should have planned it all a bit more carefully, think.

In concept illustration 80-90 percent of the work is completed in the preperation stages. That is where you make all the creative descisions, designs, and comps. The finished piece should take the least amount of effort, and mainly be the application of technical skills. YOU really need to prepare better in the future if you don't want to totally melt down and get brain bubbles over a 60 hour failure that could have been successful with some planning.

Fair point, but not entirely constructive, especially since I'd already made it to mysef. Any more where that came from regarding specifics?
