not sure this belongs in the "finally finished" thread,
but then again - it IS a feature film that i was part of its conceptart team,
which is...well... Finally finished.
:)

about 4 years ago, a big studio called DPSI , located in Beit-Shemesh, Israel,
started working on a feature film temp' called "Yankee Irving" about a little boy`s baseball adventures somewhere in 1940s america.
in a nutshell -the studio got half way into the making of this film, and the studio closed down (for many reasons.. plus the initial director - Christopher reeve - died.) and production got moved to Canada.

i was one of the art department`s artists, and my small part included some character designs, some props, color schemes research, and some scene artwork. anyways, i think it turned out pretty good.

wow, that's so cool man. Seems so strange that it was made in Israel? Would you be allowed so show some of the concepts you made?

thanks.

DPSI (Digital Production Solutions Israel) was a branch of IDT, which is the owner and producer of this feature.
so the whole deal was located in israel,
but it was all american/canadian production thing.
it was a combined effort, to make something big in israel.
(which didn`t really take off eventually...)

about my art- i`m not really sure about the legal aspects
of things as for the moment, but perhpas i`ll post `em in the future.

i can see what you`re saying.
i honestly have no interest in advertising anyone or anything but my own art.
:)
but since i can`t post any right now, i guess this is a bit out of place.
so, if any admin can think of a better forum thread for this post, i`d appreciate it if they move it there. thanks.

Looks very good. I was a bit skeptical at first on how it would look since, but after the trailer I am sold.

So, which characters did you have a hand in designing?

i did the bullies that pick on the boy, and some civilians, and the boy`s mom.
but since it moved out of DPSI`s hands, and the project continued elsewhere,
i have no idea what stuck and what got dumpt.
i just hope that us (initial) artists will get at least some credit.

I have to say, I really wanna see this movie now.

Just looking at the image you posted, by looking at his hands, I can tell how high quality it is. So many 3d movies I've seen, even Advent Children, whenever they grab something, it looks fake... almost plastic... But by seeing how he is gripping the bat, it adds so much for me. The trailer looks fun too :D
