Is there a tool in adobe illustrator or freehand mx that
will make this starburst shape? Sorry if wrong section.
I have been looking for this trick for a while. :)

As for flash and Illustrator, I do not know.

I do however know that you can do this in photoshop by running polar coordinates filter over vertical bars. Maybe that's of some use?

no problems. Strangely couldn't find a similar transform in illustrator.

You can achieve a similar effect in Illustrator CS+ (I think) by taking the star shape tool and pressing the up arrow key while you're applying it to the canvas.

And ditto about Photoshop. That's probably a better way.

Edit: I couldn't get it to work though.
Might be that I am in xp on a mac.
Not sure though. I might just be doing it wrong.
