Hello all,

I am thinking that I want to go to school in Southern Cali. I want to be either a Graphic Design or Illustration major - maybe Animation (it's a thought) - but not absolutely sure yet.

Can anyone tell me what you think of the art colleges there (Cal Arts, Art Center, Laguna, Otis) on any or all of these majors? I've seen some things on Art Center and Cal Arts...they look good (but what are your thoughts)...but not so much on Otis or Laguna. Anyone know anything about those?

Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you're shying away from Otis or Laguna??

I'm not shying away from them. I just haven't heard much or know that much about them. So, if anyone does....

i'm pretty much a lurker here but i attend laguna college of art and design. i'm an illustration major and here's some info to know about LCAD:

-the school is tiny. one of my classes the last semester had only three students (including me).
-the first year is very heavy on fine arts (drawing, painting, and sculpture... all required in the foundation)
-the animation and graphic design majors are very popular at LCAD.

um.... LCAD is overlooked probably because of how small it is... but the work i've seen produced by the seniors was very impressive.

lagunacollege.edu is the website... they've re-done the entire layout apparently and even updated the student gallery.

i was also looking at going to otis, but the representative that came to my high school two years ago was a jerk and wasnt willing to answer questions for anyone so i decided not to go there...

good luck choosing a school! :)
