Fuzzyeyes Studio (http://www.fuzzyeyes.com) is currently looking for an experienced concept artist to work in our Brisbane office on an unannounced title.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role on a recent game and should have work that demonstrates the ability to deliver stylistically and technically excellent environment concepts from quick sketching through to final promotional art.
The ability to work to a brief and follow a tight schedule without compromising the core idea is essential.
Strong technical art skills are highly desired with a good understand of colour theory, perspective, lighting etc.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Work with project leads to help drive the style and direction of game environments.
Develop environmental and general concepts from verbal or written notes whilst seeking feedback and being able to rapidly make changes as appropriate.
Storyboarding – showing key game sequences and action.
Demonstrate a high level of creativity and innovation in concept design.
Effectively conceptualise game world features within given constraints.
Communicate clearly to other team members.
Work with programmers, artists and the lead game designer to ensure timely design buy-in.
Required Skills/Experience:
Degree qualification in fine Art or equivalent
Sci-Fi, steam punk and realistic conceptual creation abilities.
At least 2 years work experience within the industry, experience in simular position is a plus.
Shipped at least one title or more as a concept artist, from concept through to final product.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
Have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills; be able to effectively communicate with the lead designer, programmers, and artists.
Work well under pressure, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good understanding of the art development process.
Familiar with 3D packages. (3DStudioMax or Maya) is a Plus.
