Hey guys! I'm working on a satyr chick and I'm worried about the proportions. The legs are kind of throwing me. From this prespective, does anyone know how long the legs should be? am I on the right track? Like a newbie, I started working inwards-outwards, instead of doing a full sketch then filling it in. sigh, I'll learn one of these days
Thanks :)

I think it depends on what you're trying to achieve. Were this a normal figure, the distance from just above the crotch to the top of the head would equal from that point to the feet (give or take for body types).
But in fantastic creatures, you have a little leeway. Longer legs make her look more graceful, shorter legs, more randy (for Satyrs). It's really about salting to taste. For my money, they look a tad short right now.

they do look a bit short right now, but like dogfood said, it is a matter of what you are trying to do. Her right knee area also seems a bit funny. I'm not sure if you just haven't completed it or are in the process of remodeling it.
also I think you have to redo the mouth. The head is facing to the viewer's right and the mouth is aligned almost straight on. This makes it look like the mouth is on the right side of her face instead of under her nose where it belongs.
all in all, great idea! keep up the good work.

I agree with incolorinred... the right leg needs more modeling. I'd make sure the muscles in the legs are as well defined as the nice modeling you have going across the chest.
I look forward to seeing this piece progress!
