Hello everyone,
I'm currently putting together a development team to create a independant game together and thought this would be a good place to post to find talented artists, both 3D and 2D. I've already posted this exact same post on another game development forum and haven't changed the original post as it gets the main information about the game down pretty well. Right now I am mainly looking for a concept artist and many 3D artists for textures, level creation, animation, etc..
Team name:
None at the moment. This will be decided once there is a team.
Project name:
The Skeleton Garden (working title)
Brief description:
I am planning on this game being an Episodic First Person Adventure. What the hell does that mean? Well, I want to take the episodic idea from Valve’s newly released SiN Episodes and Half-Life 2 Episodes and create a more story oriented episodic game. I want it to be first person because I want the player to have a very interactive and involving experience, which, I feel the first person perspective provides the best. The game will also have some horror elements as I want there to be some moments of high tension and “Oh my God!” moments. So, to break the game down it is:
The episodic elements of SiN Episodes +
The first person interactivity of games like Deus Ex +
The compelling story telling and real world enviroment like Indigo Prophecy and Shenmue +
The creepiness of Silent Hill =
This Game
If you want to know more about the story I've added a second post that explains it in more detail.
Target aim:
After we get a playable demo ready I would like to pitch the game to publishers but I am also willing to release the game independantly.
Compensation:
There is no payment at the moment but if we eventually did get a publishing deal or start selling the game ourselves the entire team would obviously receive part of the money earned.
Technology:
Yet to be decided.
Talent needed:
Mainly programmers and artists of all kinds (concept, level designers, 3D modelers). I’d like to get at least one experienced programmer and one experienced 3D artist/level designer to be the lead programmer and lead artist respectively.
Team structure:
Alex Riggen (myself) – Game designer/writer/composer
One 3D modeler/animator
One concept artist
One lead programmer
Website:
None yet but I do plan on creating one as soon as the game gets into development.
