what's the deal people? why no mention of tabletpcs here? don't any of you have one yet? or at least tried painting on one?
these things are selling much better than expected, but personally I don't see why anyone would want one for anything other than painting. it's like they were made for us, yet I never hear anyone talking about them.
I really want to buy one, and I've been reading all the forums and reviews and such, but there is hardly any mention of using them as an artists tool. I want to hear from people who use painter or photoshop with a wacom on a regular basis.
come on people, I want stories, reviews, artwork, etc.

I have one, the Acer 104C, just bought a little over a week ago.
I haven't truly utilized it that much yet so I cant give
a reccomendation if you should buy one
but its pretty cool being able to take it around
and paint stuff.

Funny. I actually have to write a presentation.
And I thought about choosing "tablet-pc as an art tool" or something like that as a topic.
There was a thread @ sijun.com a long time ago ... but the search doesn't find it.
Obviously it was started before the forums were upgraded.

I think I read that the images only look ok when viewed from a certain angle.
And the better artists, illustrators and designers might be used to their dual monitor setups and 2 gigs of ram
(high resolution and MANY layers).
So maybe current tablet-pcs are simply not good enough!?
Or too expensive for scribbles?
I'm really interested in this topic. I hope there'll be more replys.
Does Painter 8 run on tablet pcs btw.?

This is true, and it can be sortof annoying
but i have a feeling its something you can get around
once you adjust to it. A CRT screen is still much superior to
LCD tho.
I haven't tried Painter 8 on it, Photoshop 7 and Painter 6 seem to work fine. Oh but right now there is no pen tilt supported. It will most likely be supported in a future wacom driver.
