I am trying to get a feel for the "new age" comic style.

hey Shadow Raven. I took a look at what you had. I notice that the wrinkles in the clothing look funny. I also noticed that it feels very 2d. I'd like to see some values/shading. See you drawing as a 3d picture to help you out. The proportions of the arms are off. I'd suggest looking into anatomy books. Andrew Loomis Is a great resource. Keep practicing shadow raven.

Hi. Well first off, you have created this drawing using almost exclusively line. Use some tone in your drawing and add more values.
Also, the biggest issue you have is that the quality of your line needs improvement. You are using a very thick "coat hanger" looking line around the outside of your figure. Working on creating a more gracefull and subtle line that varies throughout the drawing. For example, the outline of the face should not be the same quality and heaviness as the hair. The two are very different right?? so that should be reflected in how you handle each respectively. The same can be said about the face in relation to the clothing.
On a positive note, you seem to be getting a grasp on proportions. Keep practicing and perfecting and you'll do great.

Sorry, I tried to do that, and I thought I did I did not notice that is was a like.
Sorry.
And thank you for the insight, now I will have a better footing to bring it to the next stage, from just a sketch to a picture.
Also, I come from a cartooning backround, so I did not even think about the thickness of my lines. Thank you very much for pointing that out.
