I love creating planets for stories and draw the animals and creatures that lives on the planet but i want them to look more realistic.
Do any one know any good sites with tutorial for drawing creatures/animals?
or have any tips how to make realistic creatures/animals?

Heres a link to something but personally I would just go into google image search and type the name of the creature you want and then browse for the picture you like the best. Then maximize it and draw exactly what you see. Take your time...don't rush and just concentrate, push down on darker areas to get darker lines and if you mess up...erase the lines that aren't working out and fix it. Good luck

another question
i need some help with the coloring/ effekts.
can some one tell me how to make the creatures look slimy or make their skin look like snake skin or furry and so on in photoshop.

Understanding the accepted theories of how life evolved on this planet will go a long way in generating your own living, breathing worlds, populated with fantastic, believable fauna.
There was a recent show that detailed an imaginary trip to an alien world by robotic terrestrial explorers. It was fairly well-thought out, but I can't recall the title. It was even the subject of a thread here.
The key in developing creatures seems to be including recognizable elements, or, if totally alien, a well-developed, consistant form that makes sense, given the environment.
Barlow gave a good treatise in ImagineFX #4.
