thats really sweet man- i guess my only crit would be: add an intresting background. and possibly the eyebrows need a little more fine tuneing. (goes from a light gray to a dark gray)
other than that you look like your on a great start

the colors are very nice.. .im surprised you dont have much experience with color. proportionally, the nose is too long. the lips look flat, and i think some other areas could be worked more to get a greater sense of depth. i also suggest doing something with the backround.. .its distracting. nice work so far, keep it up.

the only things i know about colors are the ones i have read on the round table in this forum :-/
