Good effort but I think you will have to copy more from life and photographs to make improvement in your artwork. Drawing from imagination is for the most part useless (it doesn't teach you anything). You have to find out if have the talent it takes to improve through hard work.

nice start.
For the digitals, the edges seem to blend a bit too much. for example: the shadows and highlights on the skin of the last image is really nice, but where the cheeks meets the hair is blending too much into each other. I think you may just need some definite shadows. The hairline on the top is good tho.
By the looks of your progress, you're getting better with proportions and everything. just keeping working at it. I'd suggest drawing from life too.
That's about all i have to say. Keep drawing and keep posting. I'd like to see your progression.

jk. For those of you who dont know, I'm with that mod too.
I agree with what the last guy said. I can tell that you have a background it tangeable painting because of how you use your brushes- your works look like paintings. It would be nice to see some sharper lines in some areas.

Pound

I didn;t use ref on it at all, but it is all a bit patchy, the leg might be too long too. Can't remember if it was you who told me that.

That last one was inspired by a piece i coudl never match (yet! I'm only 15), in the Guildwars thread in the FF section. Well, there was another piece that i ws more inpsired by, but this is what it's closer to.

Thanks Macar, I drew the cartoony stuff for Sload. A lore thing, which until I did some research made no sense to me.
Anyway, here's an update of my year of improvement, please put them side to side to see what I mean.

The second isn't finished, and was done using the same methods as the first, minus the use of dodge or burn tools (more like abuse in the first one).
It feels a bit flukey as it turned otu so good, but then to restore faith in myself, I am saying I can't have fluked a whole piece. Details I worked on are hands and cloth, and things I neglected so far are the gold accessories.
Anyway, thanks to inspiring and astounding artists here and at Tamriel Rebuilt.

This second pic looks way better than the first :)
Things to think about -- his right hand doesn't seem to have a thumb; his right upper arm seems a little skinny; and his right leg is too short and should bend out at the knee more...
Keep up the good work! :teeth:

Hey, I love the reflections on his neclace- and I think the skin tones look great. I think something's wrong with the feet. If you moved them up into the clothes a little more. Also- he's pretty well dressed for a fisherman :P

on the tiritar woman (last one- for those of you who arent into Realms of Renth) I think the forground hand looks really great. I still think there's something majorly wrong with the breasts, though- I'm still in favor of smaller ones anyway but something is wrong with those.
Breton armor is interesting- very medieval but rather unusual looking at the same time. The orcish caterpillars look a lot like redoran architecture... is that a coincidence? I like the body however.
I miss the goat in the 5th one :(

I saw that you receommended Uglow in Dravloc25's SB so I came over for a look. People don't recommend him enough, me included. Good call.
You can see real progression in your works here, but why nothing more recent than October? Some of those recent images are way, way ahead of your early stuff. Post more!

One of these of these is using a newly discovered technique to me, where you work in greyscale (or just greys) and then apply colour over in a filtered layer. Works great especially depending on what kind of atmosphere you want to develop in the scene based on your fundamental subjects.

Now those first two are quite hansome :P
And the other two are pretty good too. Is that the guy from drake's fortune? (which I havent played) The atmosphere of the last one is realy good- the limited color palate and the pitch of the camera are all interesting. Though, the angle of the camer makes it a bit wierd- because the character would be leaning back against the crate, but because of the tilt he's standing up straight- just something to be aware of.
