i found that oil painting on watercolor paper works great! my friend has a mark zug original.. markzug (http://www.markzug.com) and he said he paints on watercolor paper. so i tried it out, dry's fast enough so i keep reworking my colors and wont get muddy, and i can sketch something and paint right over. next im going to do some work in painter and print it out on the same paper and paint over that. did these in about 1 to 2 hours each, im still kinda slow. the 2 on the left are out of my head, and the one on the right is from a national geographic. i can actually paint at the size i draw at now... weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

these are very cool/good/neat/fun to look at. colors are awesome, and umm good job on finding something you like to paint on. but be careful they don't start rotting after a year.

Very cool stuff man.
Good idea with oils ‘n water colour paper, but .PZ. have a point. Experiment with fixatives ( liquin ..etc) and see how it goes.
Post more!

i have some acrylic gesso... maybe a thin layer of that will do it? i've gessoed masonite before just for texture... but never paper.

..did another one yesterday... http://ben.n-son.com/goober2.jpg
i tried some gesso on the paper... it just warped it. is there any type of paper that would be archival for oil paints?

Keep on experimenting, you have to protect them somehow.

I really like this stuff.

hey darkcult.. thanks for that link! here is the newest one i did. i scanned the drawing, then put in flat color in painter... so there were only about 5 colors total. then printed it on the watercolor paper... and couple hours later... i got this. it goes so fast like this.. i love it, plus my drawing shows from underneath, if i want it to. its the perfect underpainting. i got the exact look i wanted. i need some more paper now.
